2026 PRICE SNAPSHOT
Marble fixing price in Dubai: the rates you should compare first
Before you multiply any rate by your floor area, identify whether the number is labour-only, material-only or supply-and-install.
Arifeen Marble’s current tile installation cost UAE guide puts straightforward large-format or natural-stone labour around AED 45–55/m². The same source gives AED 120–400/m² as a broad natural-stone or marble supply-and-install range for ordinary specifications. A premium slab selection can exceed that because the stone alone may cost more than the entire entry-level package.
If you are comparing marble installation in dubai, ask every contractor to show the same cost layers. One quote may include adhesive, grout and final cleaning while another excludes them; the cheaper headline figure can become the more expensive project once extras are added.
| Cost item | 2026 planning range | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Natural-stone fixing labour | AED 45–55/m² | Ready substrate, standard handling; specialist slab work can be higher |
| Marble / natural stone supply + install | AED 120–400/m² | Exact stone allowance, fixing materials and finishing |
| Old finish removal | AED 50+/m² | Debris disposal and substrate repairs may be extra |
| Levelling / screed | AED 20–40/m² | Required only where levels or flatness need correction |
| Stone sealant | AED 25–40/m² | Product, coats and surface preparation |
| Epoxy grout | AED 35–50/m² | Joint width, colour and area |
SCOPE MATTERS
What does “marble fixing” actually include?
Two contractors can quote the same floor at very different rates because they are pricing different scopes.
A labour-only marble fixing price normally covers setting out, laying the stone, standard cuts and installation labour. It may not include the marble, adhesive, grout, floor levelling, demolition, skirting, movement joints, polishing, sealing, heavy lifting or protection after completion. That distinction matters because natural stone is not a single-operation product.
A complete installation has five cost layers: the stone, substrate preparation, fixing materials, installation or fabrication labour and final finishing. We prefer to separate them because it lets you see where the money is going and makes variations easier to control. If the project includes walls, stairs or bespoke details, those areas should have their own unit rates rather than being blended into the floor rate.
| Scope level | Usually included | Common exclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Labour only | Setting out, laying, standard cuts | Stone, adhesive, grout, prep, polishing |
| Labour + fixing materials | Labour, approved adhesive, standard grout | Stone, demolition, levelling, fabrication |
| Supply + install | Stone allowance, fixing materials, installation | Premium slabs, special fabrication, major prep unless stated |
| Turnkey stone package | Measured scope, supply, fabrication, fixing, finishing | Only items specifically excluded in writing |
STONE COST
How much does the marble itself cost per square metre in the UAE?
The material can be cheaper than the installation on a basic project—or many times more expensive on a luxury one.
Current UAE guidance from Arifeen Marble places lower-cost marble around AED 180–250/m², mid-range imported selections around AED 300–450/m² and luxury Italian marble around AED 600–1,200+/m². These are material-planning bands rather than fixed retail prices because slab grade, thickness, finish, block selection, resin treatment, vein quality and stock availability all matter.
If you are still choosing the best marble type Dubai, do not compare only the trade name. Inspect the actual lot or slabs. A cleaner background, stronger bookmatching potential or better yield can justify a higher purchase price, while a cheaper slab with cracks, awkward veins or poor usable area can increase fabrication waste.
| Marble tier | Material-only planning range | Typical budgeting use |
|---|---|---|
| Lower-cost / commercial selection | AED 180–250/m² | Rental upgrades, secondary areas, cost-controlled flooring |
| Mid-range imported | AED 300–450/m² | Main living floors, bathrooms, stairs, feature areas |
| Luxury Italian / premium white marble | AED 600–1,200+/m² | High-end villas, statement floors, slabs and matched walls |
UNIT PRICING
How much is marble per square foot—and why 1 kg is the wrong way to price a floor
Architectural marble is normally bought by square metre, slab, linear metre or piece, not by kilogram.
One square metre equals about 10.764 square feet. That means AED 180–250/m² is roughly AED 16.7–23.2/ft², AED 300–450/m² is about AED 27.9–41.8/ft², and AED 600–1,200/m² is approximately AED 55.7–111.5/ft² for the material. Straightforward AED 45–55/m² fixing labour converts to about AED 4.2–5.1/ft².
Customers sometimes ask how much 1 kg of marble is worth. Weight is useful for transport, structural loading and lifting plans, but it is not a practical retail pricing unit for finished floors. Two stones with similar weight can have completely different quarry value, slab quality, thickness, finish and yield. For your project, ask for the measured area, slab dimensions, thickness, wastage and fabrication scope instead of a price per kilogram.
| Quoted rate | Approx. per ft² | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| AED 45–55/m² | AED 4.2–5.1/ft² | Straightforward labour-only stone fixing |
| AED 180–250/m² | AED 16.7–23.2/ft² | Lower-cost marble material |
| AED 300–450/m² | AED 27.9–41.8/ft² | Mid-range imported marble |
| AED 600–1,200/m² | AED 55.7–111.5/ft² | Luxury marble material |
BEFORE FIXING
Demolition and floor preparation can add more than the fixing labour
A marble floor is only as reliable as the surface below it.
In renovation work, old tile or stone removal starts around AED 50+/m² and floor levelling or screeding is commonly AED 20–40/m². If both are needed, a 100 m² floor can carry at least AED 7,000–9,000 in demolition and levelling before you buy or install one square metre of new marble. Hidden weak screed, cracks or moisture can push the preparation higher.
Do not ask the installer to “make it work” over a visibly unstable base. Marble is rigid and can reflect substrate problems as cracks, hollow spots or lippage. We check flatness, strength, existing cracks, finished floor levels, door clearances and transitions before fixing. Where your project meets another finish, a correctly fabricated marble threshold can solve the level change cleanly instead of leaving a rough tile-to-stone edge.
| Preparation item | Planning range | Example at 100 m² |
|---|---|---|
| Old floor removal | AED 50+/m² | AED 5,000+ |
| Levelling / screeding | AED 20–40/m² | AED 2,000–4,000 |
| Combined minimum planning allowance | AED 70–90+/m² | AED 7,000–9,000+ |
FIXING MATERIALS
Adhesive, grout and sealer should be specified—not treated as invisible consumables
Natural stone can be damaged by the wrong fixing system even when the workmanship looks neat on day one.
Arifeen Marble’s current wall-fixing guidance uses about AED 10–15/m² as an extra allowance for premium adhesive, AED 35–50/m² for epoxy grout and AED 25–40/m² for protective stone sealant. These are useful cost layers, but the correct product still depends on the stone, substrate, tile or slab size, location and moisture exposure.
For light, translucent or moisture-sensitive marble, do not assume a generic grey adhesive is suitable. Natural Stone Institute technical guidance stresses selecting adhesives by their properties, intended use and staining potential, with proper surface preparation and application. Good fixing also aims for full, consistent support behind the stone rather than isolated blobs that can leave hollow areas. Ask your quote to name the adhesive system and who is responsible if the specified product discolours the marble.
| Material / finish | Indicative add-on | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Premium adhesive | AED 10–15/m² extra | Stone compatibility, bond and handling requirements |
| Epoxy grout | AED 35–50/m² | Higher-performance joint option where appropriate |
| Protective stone sealant | AED 25–40/m² | Improves stain resistance; does not make marble stain-proof |
WORKED FLOOR BUDGET
Example: what a 60 m² apartment marble floor can cost
A small apartment floor shows why material selection changes the total more than the basic fixing labour.
For 60 m² of straightforward floor area, labour-only stone fixing at AED 45–55/m² gives AED 2,700–3,300 before stone and preparation. If you choose a lower-cost marble at AED 180–250/m², the material itself is AED 10,800–15,000 before wastage. Mid-range material moves that to AED 18,000–27,000, while luxury marble at AED 600–1,200+/m² is AED 36,000–72,000+.
Renovation work can add AED 3,000+ for removal and AED 1,200–2,400 for levelling if both apply across the full area. Those numbers are why we do not advertise one “all-in marble price” for every apartment. The correct budget depends on the actual stone, how much preparation is needed, whether skirting is included and how the new floor meets bedrooms, bathrooms and doors.
| 60 m² example | Indicative amount |
|---|---|
| Fixing labour only | AED 2,700–3,300 |
| Lower-cost marble material | AED 10,800–15,000 |
| Mid-range imported material | AED 18,000–27,000 |
| Luxury marble material | AED 36,000–72,000+ |
| Old floor removal, if required | AED 3,000+ |
| Levelling, if required | AED 1,200–2,400 |
VILLA BUDGET
Example: a 150 m² villa floor can range from practical to genuinely luxury
Large areas amplify every material decision, but they can also improve labour efficiency when the layout is open and repetitive.
At 150 m², straightforward labour-only fixing at AED 45–55/m² is about AED 6,750–8,250. A broad standard supply-and-install planning range of AED 120–400/m² gives AED 18,000–60,000, but that should not be used for premium marble because high-end material alone can exceed it.
Using material tiers separately, lower-cost marble is roughly AED 27,000–37,500 before fixing and wastage, mid-range imported marble is AED 45,000–67,500, and luxury marble is AED 90,000–180,000+ material-only. If an existing 150 m² floor must be removed, add AED 7,500+; full-area levelling would add AED 3,000–6,000. For a villa this size, slab yield, batch consistency and skirting quantities deserve the same attention as the per-metre rate.
| 150 m² villa cost layer | Indicative amount |
|---|---|
| Labour-only fixing | AED 6,750–8,250 |
| Standard supply + install planning band | AED 18,000–60,000 |
| Lower-cost marble material only | AED 27,000–37,500 |
| Mid-range marble material only | AED 45,000–67,500 |
| Luxury marble material only | AED 90,000–180,000+ |
| Removal + levelling if both required | AED 10,500–13,500+ |
WALLS & CLADDING
Marble wall fixing is not priced like a flat floor
Vertical work needs more handling, layout control and, on heavy or high installations, a different fixing strategy.
Arifeen Marble currently lists marble wall tiles around AED 180–300/m² supplied and fixed. Custom decorative wall fixing can reach AED 180–400+/m² fixing-only where the design needs complex layout, inlays, large panels or specialist access. Heavy or high stone may also need engineered restraint rather than relying on adhesive alone.
A simple bathroom wall is therefore not comparable with a double-height slab wall. For matched veining, slab selection and fabrication become major cost drivers; our dedicated book matched marble wall Dubai guide explains consecutive slabs, seam positioning and premium wall budgets in more detail. If your quote says only “wall marble – x AED/m²,” ask whether cutting, lifting, backing, anchors, mitres, electrical openings and sealant are included.
| Wall scope | Planning range | Typical cost driver |
|---|---|---|
| Marble wall tiles, supply + fixing | AED 180–300/m² | Stone grade, wall condition, cuts |
| Custom decorative fixing | AED 180–400+/m² fixing-only | Pattern, large panels, precision and access |
| Premium adhesive add-on | AED 10–15/m² | System specification |
| Stone sealant | AED 25–40/m² | Stone porosity and product |
STAIRS & EDGES
Stairs, skirting and thresholds need piece or linear pricing
A staircase contains far more cutting and exposed edge work than the same square metres of flat flooring.
For a straight staircase, a useful early planning allowance is around AED 350–700 per step for a tread-riser package with standard fabrication, while premium stone, curves, landings, thick mitres and difficult balustrade coordination can push the rate higher. Our install marble steps Dubai guide breaks down treads, risers, nosing and worked flight budgets.
Fabricated stone skirting is often priced by linear metre rather than floor area; AED 60–120/linear m is a reasonable budgeting band for ordinary profiles, but stone grade, height and edge finish matter. Doorway pieces, shower entries and room transitions are normally counted separately. Window details can also form part of the stone package, so coordinate natural stone window sills before the final slab cutting plan if you want the same material or vein family throughout the property.
| Detail | Early planning range | Pricing unit |
|---|---|---|
| Straight marble tread + riser package | AED 350–700/step | Per step |
| Fabricated marble skirting | AED 60–120/lm | Linear metre |
| Thresholds / special transition pieces | Project-specific | Per piece / linear metre |
| Landings, curves, thick mitres | Project-specific | Measured fabrication |
WET AREAS
Bathroom marble costs more when waterproofing, falls and detailed cuts are included
The marble is only the visible layer of a wet-area system.
Bathroom waterproofing is commonly budgeted around AED 30–50/m², while some small projects are quoted at roughly AED 1,500 as a bathroom allowance. The quote should state what is waterproofed, how drains and penetrations are treated, whether floor falls need correction and whether testing is included. Niches, bench seats, mitred corners and linear drains add cutting and alignment time.
If you are pricing bathroom marble tiles Dubai, separate wall area from floor area and list vanity tops or shower kerbs as fabrication items. A 20 m² bathroom wall package at AED 180–300/m² is already AED 3,600–6,000 before waterproofing and premium stone upgrades. Small bathrooms can also have a higher effective rate because mobilisation, protection, wet cutting and hand detailing are concentrated into a limited area.
| Bathroom cost layer | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Waterproofing | AED 30–50/m² or ~AED 1,500/project |
| Marble wall tiles supply + fixing | AED 180–300/m² |
| Epoxy grout where specified | AED 35–50/m² |
| Sealant where appropriate | AED 25–40/m² |
| Niches, kerbs, mitres, drain cuts | Separate fabrication / labour item |
FINAL FINISH
Do not assume new marble is handed over with final polishing included
Some floors are installed from factory-finished tiles; others need site grinding, honing or polishing to achieve the intended finish.
For routine existing-floor polishing in Dubai, current market guides commonly sit around AED 15–50/m². Floors needing moderate grinding and repolishing can move toward AED 60–90/m², while deeper full restoration may reach roughly AED 90–150+/m² depending on damage and finish. New installations may need their own final finishing scope, particularly where lippage correction or a seamless polished appearance is specified.
Before approving the quote, ask whether the installer is supplying factory-polished stone only or will also finish the installed floor. Our detailed marble floor polishing Dubai guide explains polishing, honing, grinding and crystallisation separately. Sealing is another line item: an impregnating treatment can improve stain resistance, but it does not make marble stain-proof and it does not prevent acid etching.
| Existing-floor service | 2026 planning range |
|---|---|
| Routine polishing | AED 15–50/m² |
| Grinding + repolishing, moderate correction | AED 60–90/m² |
| Full restoration | AED 90–150+/m² |
| Protective stone sealant | AED 25–40/m² |
REPAIR VS NEW INSTALLATION
How much does it cost to fix existing marble instead of replacing it?
Small repairs are normally priced per defect; floor restoration is usually priced by area and condition.
A single small chip or crack repair in Dubai may start around AED 300–500 once specialist mobilisation and finishing are included. Multiple chips, deep damage or combined repair and restoration can move beyond AED 800, while larger floors are better assessed by the honing, grinding and polishing scope rather than counting each mark individually.
If the stone is basically sound, repair is often cheaper and less disruptive than demolition and reinstallation. Use our repair or replace marble floor UAE guide to separate cosmetic defects from recurring cracks, widespread hollow tiles or substrate movement. Repeated cracking should not be hidden with filler until the cause is understood. A repair quote should state whether colour matching, crack filling, local grinding and final blending are included.
| Repair scope | Indicative budget |
|---|---|
| Single small chip / crack | AED 300–500 starting range |
| Multiple local defects / more complex repair | AED 800+ depending on scope |
| Routine floor polishing | AED 15–50/m² |
| Full floor restoration | AED 90–150+/m² |
MATERIAL QUANTITY
Your bill is based on purchased marble, not only the visible floor area
Cuts, vein direction and future spare pieces mean you normally order more stone than the measured net area.
For straightforward tiled layouts, an early wastage allowance of around 10% is common. Diagonal patterns, large slabs, vein matching, borders, narrow corridors and irregular rooms can need more. Bookmatched work is different again because consecutive slabs may have to be purchased even when the wall does not consume every square metre of them.
Ask the quotation to show net measured area, order quantity and the assumed wastage percentage separately. If a 100 m² floor uses a 10% allowance, you are buying around 110 m² of marble. At AED 300–450/m², those extra 10 m² represent AED 3,000–4,500 of material, so yield planning is not a minor detail. Useful offcuts can sometimes become shelves, vanity details or a coordinated marble tray rather than being discarded.
| Example | Net area | Order allowance | Approx. purchased |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple straight layout | 100 m² | 10% | 110 m² |
| More complex pattern / vein control | 100 m² | 12–15% planning check | 112–115 m² |
| Bookmatched slabs | Wall-specific | Slab-pair yield | Priced by required slabs, not just wall area |
STONE SELECTION
The cheapest marble per square metre is not always the cheapest marble to install
Stone character changes yield, filling, cutting, edge work and future maintenance.
Warm neutral projects often compare beige marble with darker stones such as armani grey marble. If you prefer a more textured natural look, travertine marble and silver travertine are commonly considered for floors, walls and architectural details. Each material has different voids, movement, filling and finishing expectations.
Do not choose only from a 10 cm sample. Review full tiles or slab photos, confirm thickness, check resin or mesh backing and ask how the stone will be cut around doorways, drains and edges. A slab that needs extensive reinforcement or has poor usable yield can cost more to fabricate than a slightly higher-priced but cleaner selection. Material approval should therefore happen before the contractor promises a final fixed installation total.
| Selection question | Why it changes cost |
|---|---|
| Tile vs slab | Slabs need more handling, lifting and fabrication |
| Vein direction | Can increase cutting waste |
| Mesh / resin backing | May change adhesive and preparation requirements |
| Open voids / filled stone | May need filling and different finishing |
| Thickness / weight | Affects handling, levels and wall fixing strategy |
ALTERNATIVE MATERIAL
If the budget is tight, compare marble with porcelain before cutting the stone specification
Reducing stone quality is not always the best way to reduce the project cost.
Standard porcelain supply and installation is currently around AED 70–180/m² in the same UAE pricing guide that places ordinary natural stone around AED 120–400/m². For a busy utility area, children’s bathroom or secondary bedroom corridor, porcelain may save money without compromising the function of the space.
Our marble vs porcelain tiles Dubai comparison explains where each material makes sense in a villa. One practical strategy is to keep natural marble in entrances, formal living areas, stairs and statement walls, then use porcelain in higher-abuse or budget-sensitive zones. That approach protects the design intent while reducing material, fabrication and long-term maintenance costs.
| Material | Current broad supply + install range | Where it often makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Porcelain | AED 70–180/m² | Wet, utility, high-use and cost-controlled areas |
| Natural stone / marble | AED 120–400/m² ordinary package | Formal floors, entrances and premium interiors |
| Luxury marble | Material alone can be AED 600–1,200+/m² | Statement spaces where stone character is the design feature |
LOCATION & ACCESS
Dubai can cost more than Sharjah even when the stone is identical
Transport, parking, tower access, loading windows and operating costs affect labour efficiency.
Arifeen Marble’s current UAE installation guide notes that Dubai and Abu Dhabi generally sit toward the higher end, while contractor labour and packages in Sharjah and Ajman can be roughly 10%–20% lower on some projects. That difference is not guaranteed: a difficult high-rise job in Sharjah can still cost more than an accessible Dubai villa.
For regional comparison, customers may review marble contracting sharjah while keeping the scope identical. In Dubai, tell the installer your floor level, loading-bay rules, lift dimensions, parking access, permitted work hours and whether security approvals are needed. Moving 20 mm stone slabs through a restricted tower is a different job from unloading tiles directly beside a ground-floor villa entrance.
| Site factor | Possible price effect |
|---|---|
| Ground-floor villa with direct access | Lowest handling complexity |
| Apartment / tower | Lift bookings, long carries, protection and working-hour rules |
| Mall / hotel / occupied commercial site | Night work, permits and phased access may add cost |
| Sharjah / Ajman straightforward work | Some labour/package rates can be ~10–20% below Dubai |
WHOLE-PROJECT COST
Coordinate marble floors with countertops, sills and other stonework before fabrication
A floor quote can look complete but still leave expensive interfaces for later trades.
If the renovation also includes kitchen countertops, compare the floor and worktop palette before ordering slabs. Countertops are fabricated by slab and linear edge details rather than floor square metres, so use a dedicated kitchen countertop installation cost dubai reference for that scope instead of applying the floor rate.
Commercial projects can have another interface entirely: a raised floor system may be required for services, and stone finishes above or beside it need a coordinated build-up. Door thresholds, window sills, lift lobbies, skirting and wall returns should appear on the stone schedule with dimensions and edge profiles. The more of these details you approve before cutting, the less likely you are to pay for remakes or mismatched material later.
| Adjacent scope | Why coordinate early |
|---|---|
| Countertops | Slab colour, edge profile and wall/floor palette |
| Window sills | Thickness, projection and matching stone |
| Thresholds | Finished levels and door clearance |
| Raised-floor interfaces | Overall floor build-up and transitions |
COMPARE QUOTES PROPERLY
A good marble quotation should make hidden costs visible before work starts
The cheapest rate is meaningful only when the inclusions match.
Before hiring a marble contractor Dubai, ask for measured quantities and unit rates for each major line. The stone should have a named allowance or approved slab selection, and the quote should say whether quantities include wastage. Adhesive, grout, skirting, edge polishing, demolition, levelling, delivery, debris disposal and protection should not be left to verbal assumptions.
Check payment terms as carefully as price. A reasonable schedule links payments to material procurement and completed work rather than paying the full amount before installation. Confirm whether the quote includes the UAE’s 5% VAT, because the Federal Tax Authority lists 5% as the standard VAT rate for standard-rated transactions. Finally, ask how variations are authorised: no extra should appear at handover without a priced change that you approved.
| Quotation line | What should be written |
|---|---|
| Measured area | Floor, wall and linear quantities separately |
| Stone | Name/grade, thickness, finish, allowance or slab reference |
| Wastage | Percentage or purchased quantity |
| Preparation | Removal, levelling, repairs, waterproofing |
| Fixing | Adhesive, grout, labour and special handling |
| Finishing | Polishing, sealing, cleaning and protection |
| Tax | Whether 5% VAT is included or added |
| Variations | Written approval process and unit rates |
TIME = COST
How long should marble installation take, and how does the programme affect price?
Marble work has measurement, procurement, cutting and finishing stages before the final handover.
A straightforward tiled floor can move quickly once the material and substrate are ready, while slab walls, staircases and large villas need more planning. The programme should allow time for site measurement, slab approval, fabrication, substrate preparation, dry layout where needed, fixing, grout or joint work, polishing and final protection. Rushing one stage can create expensive rework later.
Ask the contractor to separate fabrication lead time from on-site installation. Imported or specially selected marble can add procurement time; building access can reduce the number of productive hours per day. If other trades are still drilling, painting or moving heavy equipment, finished marble may need temporary protection and a later final clean. A realistic schedule therefore saves money by avoiding damage after the stone team leaves.
| Stage | What can delay it |
|---|---|
| Measurement / layout | Incomplete walls, doors or screed levels |
| Material approval | Stock, slab selection, client sign-off |
| Fabrication | Mitres, stairs, cutouts, bookmatching |
| Installation | Access, substrate correction, restricted hours |
| Finishing / protection | Grinding, sealing, curing and other trades |
OWNERSHIP COST
The cheapest installation is not the lowest lifetime cost if the finish is wrong
Marble can last for decades, but the surface needs the right cleaning and periodic restoration for its use.
After installation, protect entrances from sand and grit, use stone-safe neutral cleaners and wipe acidic spills quickly. Natural Stone Institute guidance notes that acidic products can etch calcareous stones such as marble, while sealers improve stain resistance rather than making the stone stain-proof. Our marble maintenance Dubai guide gives a UAE-specific cleaning and repair schedule.
For budgeting, routine professional polishing commonly sits around AED 15–50/m², with deeper grinding and restoration costing more. If your family expects heavy traffic, pets, frequent entertaining or rental turnover, choose the finish and stone with that use in mind. A slightly less reflective honed finish can make some wear less visually obvious, while a high-gloss floor will show traffic lanes and etching sooner. Maintenance expectations belong in the material decision before you approve the purchase.
| Ownership item | Budget / action |
|---|---|
| Routine cleaning | Neutral stone-safe cleaner; avoid acids |
| Polishing | AED 15–50/m² typical routine range |
| Deeper restoration | Condition-based; can reach AED 90–150+/m² |
| Sealing | Assess stone and product; AED 25–40/m² planning reference |
DETAILS THAT CHANGE THE QUOTE
Feature pieces and adjacent stone details should not be hidden inside the floor rate
Small fabricated pieces can consume disproportionate workshop time even though they cover little area.
Thresholds, shower kerbs, sill returns, fireplace edges, lift reveals and skirting often require measured fabrication, polished edges and mitred corners. A square-metre floor rate does not describe that work accurately. List each detail on the drawing and decide whether it comes from floor offcuts or needs separate matching material.
Where a kitchen or bathroom uses a large slab, coordinate openings and edge profiles before the slab is cut. The same applies to stair landings and feature-wall returns. If the project includes natural stone in multiple rooms, one shared cutting schedule can improve material yield and reduce remakes. That is especially useful with expensive premium slabs where a single damaged or wrongly cut piece can cost more than several square metres of fixing labour.
| Detail | Better pricing method |
|---|---|
| Skirting | Linear metre |
| Threshold / shower kerb | Per piece / linear metre |
| Stair tread + riser | Per step |
| Slab wall panel | Per slab / fabricated panel |
| Vanity / worktop | Slab + fabrication + linear edge / cutouts |
