The number of abrasive stages is not fixed in advance. We start with the least aggressive process that can reasonably correct the finish, adding honing or scratch-reduction stages only where the surface requires them.
We review sheen, scratches, etching, joints, lippage, previous treatments and adjacent finishes before selecting the polishing route.
Loose residue is removed and vulnerable edges, skirting, joinery or nearby finishes are protected where the scope requires it.
If polishing alone will not blend wear or fine scratches, progressive diamond honing is introduced at an appropriate starting grit rather than over-cutting the full floor.
The surface is refined through controlled polishing stages. Crystallisation may be used for compatible polished marble where it suits the maintenance objective.
Reflection, edge areas and treated zones are checked under available lighting, then the surface is cleaned and practical care guidance is provided.

Diamond polishing, honing, scratch reduction and sealing have separate starting rates because they involve different levels of surface refinement. The final quotation depends on measured area, condition, access and the number of stages actually required.
Fine surface scratches can often be reduced during honing and polishing. Deeper scratches, chips or defects that cut through the finish may need a restoration scope first. We judge this from the depth of the mark rather than promising that every scratch can be removed by polishing alone.
Diamond polishing mechanically refines the marble through abrasive stages. Crystallisation is a maintenance finishing process used on compatible polished marble to improve clarity and gloss. The correct route depends on the current condition; crystallisation is not a substitute for grinding or honing damaged stone.
Yes, subject to access and working conditions. For occupied spaces we plan the work area, furniture movement, edge protection and working sequence before starting so the scope is practical for the property rather than treating it like an empty construction site.
The programme depends on area size, current condition, number of finishing stages, edge work and access. A lightly worn open floor requires a very different programme from multiple rooms that need honing and scratch correction. We confirm timing after reviewing the actual scope.
Polished marble can be more slippery when wet, so the appropriate finish should consider the use area as well as appearance. For entrances, wet zones or other higher-risk areas, a honed or specialist anti-slip treatment may be more appropriate than pursuing maximum gloss.
There is no useful fixed interval for every property. Traffic level, cleaning chemicals, sand and grit, entrance matting and the desired appearance all affect how quickly the finish changes. We recommend polishing based on visible condition rather than automatically scheduling aggressive treatment at a fixed frequency.
