WHERE SURFACE FINISHING IS USED
Different areas call for different balances of sheen, texture and maintainability.
A polished lobby, honed bathroom wall and textured exterior threshold may use the same stone family but should not automatically share the same finish specification.

MATERIAL & FINISH COMPATIBILITY
Not every stone accepts every finish in the same way.
Mineral composition, hardness, pore structure and factory treatment all affect the achievable texture and sheen. We confirm the actual material before applying a finish route copied from another stone.
Natural MarbleCan be polished or honed depending on type and condition; etching sensitivity and traffic should be considered before choosing high gloss.
TravertineHoned and filled finishes are common; open pores, filler condition and existing holes should be reviewed before refinishing.
LimestoneOften better suited to honed or softer finishes; aggressive gloss expectations may not suit every limestone.
TerrazzoCan be honed or polished where the matrix and aggregate system are compatible with the selected mechanical process.
Granite / QuartziteHarder stones require different abrasive systems and should not be priced or processed as if they were marble.
